The quality of work was reasonable, however John Fernley took the caps from my alloys, and after three weeks of chasing has continually ignored my messages, repeatedly failed to follow through on promises to return them. The caps in question are worth £300, which John would know and my genuine belief is they have been stolen. A report has been filed accordingly.

Not impressed. Snapped 2 bolts whilst refitting an alloy wheel I asked him to refurbish on my Jaguar XJ, and then left me in the lurch to sort at my expense (£490).
Spoke to him about the invoice and he said he wanted to do the right thing and would get back to me the next day.
Obviously this was lip service as a week and a half later, and he has clearly no intention of reimbursing me, very confusing!?🤔

Worst experience I’ve ever had with a small business! Got a quote October 28th on 4 wheels to be done for £300 I was nice and said I’m away due to work and be back home December 2nd! He took two of the wheels that needed doing back to his place of work a week after! I then here nothing till Friday before the 2nd December and my family say you realise your two wheels are still not on your car so I was thinking he had stolen them so I gave him a message and he said no I’ve done them I’ll be in your area Thursday! He then constantly just didn’t show up to do the job and didn’t even say he wasn’t coming! Then he didn’t take the other 2 wheels that needed doing so I told him and yet again waiting days for a reply! Then he’d message dates and just not show up again! Then he made an excuse saying “don’t know where you’ve been mate but it’s been snowing here!” This is after nearly 3months of the contract starting! So I asked for a refund for the two wheels he hasn’t done which you’d suspect half the price plus the bad service and the wheels were fixed well but the paint job he did had bubbles! I wish I could put the photos and the screenshots of all the messages! He ended up giving me £100 of the £300 I’d paid plus I had to ask him six times and from the point of asking for a refund (Wednesday 21 December) I finally got it 2nd jan! If you go for his service expect to be mucked about and horrendous communication! Please save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else!

Initially my emails were returned very efficiently. I was quoted what I thought was a competitive price of £380.00 and I was booked in to have all the Alloy Wheels refurbed and brake calipers painted on the 9th August. The technician Chris duly arrived and started work, I was then informed just before he was to start on the 4th wheel to be informed the 3rd wheel Already looked bad even after repair but he wouldn’t touch the 4th wheel. And that ideally both wheels even though I had in essence already paid for 3 wheels refer to be taken away to be stripped back, I agreed they both needed doing and stupidly paid an extra £100 up front to have both wheels taken, one wheel at a time so I could use my spare tyre. I agreed to this on the assurance they would complete the job on Wednesday 17th, this was assured to me by Chris, as I really didn’t fancy driving my car on 50mph tyre for any longer than 8 days.
Well didn’t happen, promise after promise, date after date given, agreements made and broken, down to John offering a refund on both wheels if the second wheel was later than promised, it obviously was later than promised and no refund. John did come the following morning to my home address and fit the alloy wheel back on my car but just dumped the spare in the boot of my car, on my belongings that were in there. No centre cap put back on the alloy and the chrome dust cap removed and missing on return. There’s so many more issues but I’m sure you get the vibe. If you want a prompt service and love your car as much as I do, don’t use these guys.

Had a wheel refurbished by The mobile wheel man. Just a minor graze, the result looked a fair job but the colour silver didn't match the other wheels. Was told to wait a couple of weeks, we waited 3. Contacted them and passed a few photos. Arranged an appointment to discuss and see the difference, couldn't be bothered to keep the appointment and we waited around most of the afternoon. I even left work early for the appointment, we have tried to contact by WhatsApp and phone, there preferred method. No reply !!!

Avoid - shared photos of my alloys and asked if they could be done and was advised no problem even though I questioned what other companies had said I was advised it wouldn’t be a problem. Then on the day the technician said oh I can’t really do that they should be sent away but I’ll do my best!! That’s why I asked the question! So refurbed ok’ish but can still see issues hence why I asked. Then after they left I was left with 2 lovely overspray marks on my nice new drive!! Contacted them and they said no problem we will come back and correct this….1 month no sign of them so chased and said we haven’t forgotten!! 3 months later still no sign of them.
