I reached out to Thomson Local as I wanted to advertise but didn't have the the budget to spend a lot of money. I decided to try a backlink which was a one off cost with no contract. This has already driven more traffic to my website which has generated new clients.
Thomson Local also offer some advertising without any long term contracts which I will definitely be looking at in the future.

If you're looking for cost effective advertising look no further.

Absolutely useless company who couldn't generate extra leads even if they owned the internet. Shoddy excuses as to why leads haven't increased, shoddy customer service, shoddy excuses which I will go on to.

I was told leads haven't increased because our website was outdated. We promptly updated our website for a fresh new modern look which supported both desktop and mobile devices. Fast forward a few months and still the same amount of leads as last time. Thomsons reasoning? Because you haven't updated your website. When I proceeded to inform them it had been updated, I was greeted with a "you have? We didn't realise, well not sure what's gone wrong, we have never had this before", yeah, I am sure you have never had this before.

When proceeding to cancel, told it cannot be done unless I pay out the remainder of the contract, I explain I am providing notice and wish for immediate cancellation as the results aren't as promised. Fast-forward a few months and a debt collecting agency demanded payment for an outstanding bill. Due to worries about affecting my credit rating, debt paid, new website paid for, no extra leads and Thomson continue to con legitimate small business owners.

If they ever approach you for business, be polite and refuse them entry and/or a conversation. Save yourself the hassle of it all and the shoddy service you will receive. Probably get a better return on your money paying someone to distribute leaflets!

I have been a longstanding customer of Thomson for many years - recent years the support has dropped from low to none - but in March this year i cancelled the advertising as I am in the Wedding industry and obviously suddenly our income went to zero.

Since the beginning of April they have not given us (and apparently no other company) ANY SUPPORT due to the COVID. They are now requesting payment for two invoices - which we do not actually owe. They are hounding us and are now threatening 'further action' even though i have offered to pay a montly amount, although i dont agree with the amount.

The two ladies i spoke to in their office were more than rude and hostile.

They sent me a form to fill out to show we are at the moment financially struggling - which would incl;ude personal financial information - would anyone send this type of information to someone they don't know ?
When times improve i hope that people see the light and DO NOT use them.

Avoid. Local electrical company I registered with them had not 1 call in the year. Call to cancel sent email Instructing them not to renew my contract and they carried on trying to take money from my account. When I called very rude staff and very annoyed that I was wanting to leave. Said I sent my cancellation email to early and so it was ignored.. yet the email
Was logged onto my account.

I highly rate this organisation. I have been working with Thomson Local for many years. In fact, I have recommended them to other businesses. They know what to do to help you ensure your business hits the right market. They have the skills and tools to work with you in this respect. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Awful seriously avoid like the plague - smiley sales rep oooo we can do this that and the other !!NO THEY CAN NOT!! I have had no leads OFF THEM IN THE LAST 10 MONTHS!! Wasted a stupid amount of money with them listening to their upsell of ADWORDS and we can get you on PAGE 1 OF GOOGLE etc - they just aren't capable of such things - please don't be a MUG & waste your money like I have if you have a small business they are not viable and neither are YELL for that matter !! they lock you into a contract they know you will pay without results as they can move on to the next new small business owner absolute LEECHES - teach yourself about SEO and do it yourself its very straight forward

the review i am writing is 100% true belive it or not. thomsons are trying as hard as possible to get this review removed i will keep posting it untill i get a written apology it happened a while back but i feel this should be voiced to warn others that thomsons local are untrustworthy and should not be trusted with your persobal details. someone in my household was refused a credit check for advertisment with thomson local. the advisor on the phone asked for another name in the house-hold to run the check under. knowing full well what there doing is illegal.it was only by checking my credit rating i realised they had created a search on my name without my consent to place someone elses advertisment. i phoned up thomsons and they confirmed this is what there sales person had done. so if this has happended to you be sure to report it to the police. hope thomson local go skint and fold up.

Just been hassled on why I've cancelled my direct debit...because I havent been paid !!!...theres a virus about in case you hadn't noticed...so nobody's at work and nobody's paying.....execpt you chasing payments...think you need to go home like everyone else !!
