What a fun ride around the harbour. To be on such awesome looking boat was thrilling, the best bit was of course the fact that we could go up the stairs on the upper deck and enjoy the view. The staff was friendly and put us all at ease. This short 45 minutes trip is perfect for children who like to be very active.
We will do this again.

You can expect a warm welcome and a very enjoyable trip up and down the length of the Floating Harbour. We had booked the fish & chip excursion and our food was very nice at the mid-point when we moored up. There is also a talk from one of the crew, which is very informative about the history of the ship and of John Cabot.
The weather was very good on the day that we visited, but be aware that your booked trip goes ahead pretty-much come rain or shine. There is no shelter on the ship, so if the weather is less good make sure you dress accordingly.

Lovely ship, well maintained and clean. They offer tour of the ship and various events either moored or whilst sailing the river. We attended the event of sea shanty with pirates and fish&chips, whilst sailing down the harbour. The weather was perfect and the gig with Pirattitude just great!! Drinks were also available for purchase during the voyage.

Very clean and lovely ship, you can go on board and have a look at everything in there. We had the luck to get an excellent tour of the ship and very informative demonstration on how people sailed on the original ship. I can recommend to visit it if you have time. The entry is free and everybody is very lovely and helpful and explains you a lot of details if you are interested in medieval sailing. Unfortunately we had no time to book a tour on the Matthew, but I hope we can do this soon. Thank you so much for your kind insight into everything, we had a very good time visiting the ship! Top recommendation!!

Our little one loves to climb aboard and explore the boat. He likes to listen to the fun facts shared by the staff (especially Paul) about the boats history and looking through the knot keyring/bracelet box, of little goodies handmade by Jane.

I visited the Matthew today and was pleasantly surprised at the experience. I was met by a knowledgeable lady who answered my questions and provided additional information. On board there is a voluntary donation box. We were free to roam the upper decks of the ship, but we couldn’t go below deck today as maintenance was in progress. That’s fine by me.

I went on the first fish and chip supper of the 2025 season - very well organised and a great greeting on arrival - (no tickets are issued but you sent reminder e-mails and how to check in) You are checked on a paper list

Fish and chips or what every you order are provided by an outside caterer (salt & malt for 2025) -

We were lucky with the weather as it was a pleasant evening and very well organised

Had a great trip on the Avon gorge trip even though it was a bit wet. Will definitely do another trip when we can in the future
