The height is the main attraction. It’s fantastic and gives you a panoramic view over the whole city. The history cards and audio learning was interesting, as well. I do however think the price was too high considering everything that was included. I’d hope there would be a young persons discount (18-25) or an Art Pass discount, but no such luck. While it was a good experience to do once, I don’t think I’d visit twice.

Very interesting castle. Alot of steep steps, with resting places on the way but well worth the climb. Inside more modern steps and viewing platforms that take you to the top. There are also stone spiral stairs if you are afraid of heights, as I am. Fantastic views from the top. Lots of short information recordings and sheets to read, along with information boards.

We're members of English heritage so it didn't cost anything for entry and I must say I'm glad as there's not a lot to see. It was lovely to have a look around cliffords tower and there are things to look at like it's history and the view from the top but not much more. It definitely won't take long and it's quite a pull walking up the very steep steps (55 I think) so you do need to be fit. Give it a look round you may learn something.

It is also a landmark tourist attraction that you cannot miss when you come to York. The fee here is not high, but the tour time is relatively short, about half an hour to nine minutes, and you can visit all the places. The most worthwhile thing about the whole attraction is to go to the top floor of the tower to see the scenery of York town in 360 degrees. In different directions, they will provide signs to remind you of other landmarks you can see. On sunny days, you can come here and sit on the bench to enjoy the sun and appreciate the beautiful scenery of York.

If you buy tickets online at least one day before you are visiting, you'll get a discount (around 15%).

The Clifford's Tower is an interesting place with a rich history. However, there is not that much to see inside, so you won't spend that much time here. The view of York on top of the keep is very good. So if the weather is good you can extend your visit by just admiring the views.

A smaller English Heritage site but quite interesting. The installation of the interior stairs and roof have opened up more to see and the roof gives good views over York and for miles around.

There are quite a lot of steep steps involved at the site and the nature of the interior steps and walkways may not be best for those not keen on heights but the views from the new roof are great especially on a clear sunny day

Worth the visit for the stunning aerial views over the City alone! Purchased tickets in advance on a morning early bird type offer. Thoroughly enjoyed our time here, extremely interesting and one of those places always wanted to visit and now obviously have.
