Such a lovely shop with lots of local produce as well as caved aged cheddar cheese, in cheddar! Lots of flavours of cheese, lots of free samples of cheese and the cheese itself is delicious. Staff were very friendly here and you can even pay to see inside, and watch them make the cheese. Definitely worth going if you are in the charade area.

The Cheddar Gorge Cheese Company is an absolute gem and a must-visit when in Cheddar. We were truly captivated by the rich history of this place – the very heart of where Cheddar cheese originated. Watching the traditional cheesemaking process and learning about the craft added so much depth to the experience.

The visit to the shop was a delight in itself. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and the cheese tasting was an absolute highlight. The quality of the cheese is exceptional – from the smooth and creamy varieties to the cave-aged Cheddar with its rich, complex flavor. We couldn’t resist taking some home!

A shop for tourists. I was expecting a traditional cheese shop with whole cheeses cut to your requirements. Instead, I found a sort of mini-supermarket selling plastic wrapped pre-cut slices at inflated prices.

A couple of years ago I visited the village of Camembert in France. I toured the museum, saw the cheese being made and had a taste of different camembert cheeses. The cost per person (€6) was less than this shop wants for a sliver of sweaty looking cheddar.

Took a large group of 30 to visit Cheddar Cheese Gorge Company. Was the best way to start the day. The cheese tasting was fantastic & Will one of the cheesemakers was brilliant. Engaging and happy to answer any questions. Really nice touch to add to the experience. Looking forward to bringing another group back soon!

Really recommended to get the tickets to visit the cheese making facilities. All the process is visible through the glass along with video explanations. Learning about manual Cheddar making process was very interesting. In the shop, you get to taste the various types of cheeses.

Nice little cheddar cheese factory for a weekend getaway🧀 You can come back to watch different cheese making processes for as many times as you wish within the day. Lots of cheese options to sample and buy in the shop.
