The professional support and service that Miranda/GPS Return provides was exactly what I needed to help me kick start my job search after a long career break to raise my children. Miranda is extremely positive and supportive as well as professional in her approach. In our initial session she came up with many suggestions and thoughts that had never occurred to me as well as busting a few myths I had been holding on to and helping me with my confidence in taking a big step. She also gave me lots of simple practical tasks to undertake to set me up with the best chance of finding the right career for me. I attended the ‘Return to Work’ training course, having been out of work for the last 4 years, with previously being made redundant and then looking after my young children. I was ready to start looking at going back to work but felt it was all a bit overwhelming.
Having been ‘out of the game’ for a while, I found it very useful to refresh myself with thinking about how to job search and focussing on what is important to me. It was then great to be updated with current recruitment processes, how to write your CV, discuss what recruiters are looking for and talk about interview skills.
I was finding it a bit hard to get motivated in knowing where to begin, but Miranda was great in breaking the process down in an approachable way. Not only did I refresh myself with the whole job searching process, but I learnt some new ideas and tips which I could take forward when job hunting and applying, as well as coming away with more confidence.
