Seriously, Having encountered numerous Structural Engineers during an ongoing process with Insurance company, Heddon Structures came in to run a full evaluation of my property and look over all previous reports, what I received in terms of service and professionalism was superb, direct report outlining issues many I didnt know were there, report with pictures superply formatted and easy for a lay person to understand.
I can not recommend Martin highly enough to anyone in need in the North east of England.

I had high hopes for the services I required when working with Heddon Structures, based on the other reviews and quality of the projects shown on their website. It wasn't a complex piece of work, I needed a follow up to a Level 3 survey I had carried out on a flat I am looking to purchase. I stressed that I needed a better view of what work was required and how much it would cost to be able to go back to the seller to discuss potential cost sharing. I was also promised support to find contractors and specialists who would help me with costing.
For the cost agreed, I was very disappointed. The report was very lightweight with much less information than the original survey (which they had), did not cover everything discussed, it was very late to agreed completion and I had to chase it. The follow up and closing of the report was also later than agreed after chasing it.
The introduction of a contractor to help with building costs happened, but other than to ask my availability, they have still not contacted me to arrange a site visit after nearly 2 weeks.
I agreed to pay only 50% of the invoice and Martin readily agreed, suggesting that he knew the work was sub-standard.

We had a very frustrating experience with Heddon Structures. We paid £150 just to get a quote for removing a supporting wall — instead, we received a list of loads of other work we didn't ask for - minus the actual job we contacted them about. We then heard nothing for weeks with calls and emails going unanswered. When they finally got back to us, the price was over £1500 — way higher than expected. Communication was poor throughout: calls and emails were ignored.
We gave up and went with Pitilla Bell who we were originally recommended to use. They were spot on — fast, responsive, and gave us everything we needed within three days of contacting them, for around £400.
I wouldn’t recommend Heddon Structures based on our experience. It was a waste of time and money.

Double dormer structure update.
We recently moved into a 1950s semi with a double dormer loft conversion which has a structural stud wall built utilising the original king post truss bisecting the space. The proposed new layout requires removal of this. Martin was engaged early in the process and provided sound advice throughout. He understood our requirements well and designed a solution which will enable us to achieve current building regs whilst being able live in the property while the work is done. Can’t fault him, and I feel that he will support us well with further projects. Glad to have found Heddon Structures, and look forward to working together again. Chris
