How did it all start? Well, it started with an unknown caller on a Thursday morning. Looking at the unknown number I was a bit skeptical on whether to answer, as we all too familiar with nuisance call of someone trying to sell, review or persuade you in making some sort of claim on some incident you know absolutely nothing about.

Well, with all this running through my mind I decided to answer, and I was glad I did. It wasn’t a nuisance caller, but a caller with a bit of spark and enthusiasm in his voice, a member of the Hirecracker Veteran Recruitment Consultant Team in Chester. Introducing himself, Tom explained to me why he had called and how he got my number in the first instance and asked if he could have a moment of my time.

Having found my CV online and with a job opportunity on his desk he thought that I would be a great match, and I had a high chance of securing on offer. Although, I was in doubt that I was not suitable and that the job in question was above what I was looking for, he assured me that I was the right fit. I am a veteran and having spent 24 years in service to the Crown, I knew that I would have to start at the very bottom in my new chosen career and was looking at an entry level job, however with my military experience, my new qualifications and a CV to match, Tom saw differently.

With my agreement for Tom to submit my CV and me as a candidate, it wasn’t long until I was sat in front of an interview panel, Interviewing for the job. And yes, I got the offer. Thomas Fulton and his colleague Tony Stockton were absolutely brilliant throughout the whole process. They constantly kept me up to date, checked in with me to see how I was doing, walked me through the interview process and kept repeating you can do this.
