I have worked with the Planning Handbook team for a few years now..... always a professional service, follow up satisfaction queries with me, answer any questions of mine, never had them turndown a daft question from me... I would recommend them to anyone who wants that extra advertising done by a professional body to a targeted marketplace.

These scammers telephone businesses using details that they do not have permission to store on a computer system, in the first moments of the telephone call they say that they are publishing a handbook for whichever borough they decide to represent at that particular time and carry on telling you about their publication which actually has nothing to do with any local authority.

As it happens a local authority would not endorse a private service like this, but they give unsuspecting people and businesses who do not know better information that implies they have a contract with the relevant authority. Since people are easily fooled because they are generally not that intelligent and don't do their own research they end up paying this business quite a lot of money for an advert in an unofficial publication posing as something that it is not. It is simply a money making vehicle for a publication that ends up in the recycling bin and that only simpletons who cannot operate google might be inclined to look at.

I have a recording of my most recent telephone call with this company from a man with a very boring voice telling me he's calling from the Borough of Kensington & Chelsea and he's updating their handbook. Its untrue, its just a scam.

The handbook itself might be a great way to advertise to fools and if it is then why do they have to lie about who has asked them to produce it. All the information is available at the Planning Portal - a free government resource that has existed since the noughties - probably that's where they get the information from in the first place.

I ended the most recent call by calling the caller the c word and put the phone down.

On their Google business profile there are a range of reviews, the 5-star ones are clearly made up and those so called reviewers have only left one review, there are other reviews where 5 stars are left with no comment, these are obviously from people who are aiming to increase their score on google and have no knowledge of the product, then the real reviews are 1 star and these are the ones that should be read.

This is all obvious - if it quacks like a duck, it is one.

This business telephones unsuspecting people and tells them it is calling from or on behalf of a local authority. Its a scam. Do your research and don't be fooled.

Advertising in the local planning handbook has been really effective for our business. We may even expand our reach further afield moving forward. I would highly recommend anyone within the construction industry to consider advertising and see its benefits.

Expecting me to pay 2k for a small advert in a hand book that no one uses! They said they send the hand book to people who have gotten planning permission for builds ect.. this is not true! The business is a con DO NOT USE
