Rob is an excellent sign painter and aerosol artist.

Rob won and international competition to design and execute a mural in the Meadows in Nottingham. He produced a brilliant design and executed it on time and on budget. Two years later it still looks as fresh as the day it was completed and has become a potent symbol of the environmental work going on in our community.

Rob at Rise and Signs was recently commissioned to create some murals around our school at Leen Mills in Nottinghamshire. He first came in to meet some of the children and we discussed our ideas. It was decided to create a ‘trail’ of murals around the school rather than one single wall. Rob also gave a lesson in drawing a landscape to the children, which they really enjoyed!
After Rob’s initial visit, his proposal for the artwork was sent through promptly and included details and images of what the artwork would look like and this was very reassuring to both myself, the senior leadership and the governors at the school. We felt like we were in safe hands!
When Rob began work on the school, he set about it in a professional way, working quickly and carefully, all the while being quizzed by inquisitive children who took great pleasure in watching him work!
The children at school were also involved in creating part of the finished artwork by helping to create stencils, which Rob used in his murals, which gave them a feeling of ownership over the artwork too!
The finished artwork is incredible, creating a real buzz around school among children, parents, staff and the wider community, breathing new life into tired walls and raising the profile of art among the children.
I hope in the future we will be able to secure some more funding to have Rob back again, to create some more wonderful work around our school.
