Stracathro Services is hands down one of the best truckstops around. The food is consistently excellent – hearty, fresh, and clearly made with care. Whether you're grabbing a breakfast roll or sitting down for a proper meal, you're getting quality and good value every time. The staff are friendly too, which makes a big difference when you're on the road all day.

Parking is straightforward, and the facilities are clean and well-maintained. It's a proper stop where you can rest and refuel, not just your truck but yourself too.

The only downside – and it's worth mentioning – is the single shower. When it’s busy, especially in the evening, there can be a queue, and you might end up waiting 20 to 30 minutes for your turn. It's not a deal-breaker, but for a place that gets a lot of drivers through the door, a second shower would go a long way.

All in all, Stracathro is still a brilliant stop and well worth the visit. Just be prepared for a bit of a wait if you’re needing a shower during peak hours.

The BEST service station we've visited and we travel a lot for work. At first site, the building looks dated and a bit tired but it's fantastic. There's a gift shop and cafe inside with loads of quirky gifts available at very reasonable prices. The cafe serves up homemade food which is absolutely delicious, the kind of food that makes you feel amazing after. Front of house team Jackie and Pauline were the loveliest ladies we've met on our trip around Scotland. They were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We had the beef olive dish and it was the nicest meal we've had for a very long time, we live 400 miles away but we'd happily make the trip back up just for more of their homemade food. First class! Thank you 😊

I adore this service station. The folks who work here are so nice and friendly, all the sandwiches, pies, and sweet treats are freshly baked and delicious, and they have a great range of cold drinks, plus a coffee machine. We stop here every time without fail.

Plus they have an eccentric collection of things to browse while you have a stretch.

Seriously overpriced fuel. £1.89ltr for standard petrol...But if you need to top up on a journey they have you by the short and curlies. So you have no choice but pay extortionate prices.

Pretty decent, lots of useful items for sale in the filling station very handy when traveling on a long journey. There is only one toilet here unfortunately so you will have to que.

Don’t know about the shops etc, but fuel is 40-50p more expensive than anywhere else, don’t mind a bit extra but 189.9 per litre of standard diesel takes the p’’’s. When 4miles away it’s 142.9!!!
