Visited Uilebheist Distillery & Brewery on a sunny Friday evening and had a fantastic time. We enjoyed some excellent cold beers while sitting outside in the sunshine, with a talented local musician playing in the background. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, perfect for winding down after the week. The building itself is beautiful — a great blend of modern style and traditional character — and everything inside and out is top quality. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy great drinks and a great vibe in Inverness. Will definitely be back!

You should absolutely never visit this place.
It’s an over-engineered tourist trap — shiny, dramatic, and designed to make you think something meaningful is happening.

Yes, they serve whisky…
But here’s the twist: they don’t even make their own.
It’s like going to a bakery where everything’s store-bought — just with mood lighting and a dramatic intro video.

I still have two questions:
1. How did the African founder raise enough money to build this theme park of illusions?
2. And seriously — where’s the actual whisky? You know, the one they made?

We had a fantastic time on the Discovery Tour at Uilebheist! We booked the Tour quite spontaneous. It’s a young and modern brewery and distillery, so the experience feels fresh and a bit different from the more traditional tours - in a really good way.

The tour was fun and informative, and the team was super friendly and passionate. The tasting at the end was a highlight - especially the lager, which was absolutely delicious!

Highly recommended if you’re in Inverness and want to try something new and exciting.

I had a great time on the tour at Uilebheist Distillery & Brewery. It's such an interesting setup—some of the equipment is used for both brewing beer and distilling spirits, which you don't see every day! Super efficient and pretty clever, honestly. Also likes the use of renewable energy.

The guide made everything easy to follow, even if you're not a total drinks nerd. I also really appreciated their use of renewable energy—it's nice to see sustainability actually being put into practice.

And the best part? The beer and spirits taste amazing. A really fun, unique experience all round.

Had an amazing time at the tour!! :))

Didn’t know what to expect to visit such a “new” brewery & distillery as it looked so modern compared to all other ones. Fraser was so friendly and knows everything. Tour was fun, learned a lot about the whiskey-making process and even some about Scottish history! Tasting at the end was a bit rush and quick though.. but did socialise with other participants so was pretty fun too. Do recommend!

Pros 🙂
- value for money
- tour guide knows things
- good time management
- distillery & brewery clean and neat

Cons 🙁
- wished the tasting sessions was longer and had more walkthroughs in learning about the flavors and such

It's an absolute gem of a place. Fantastic vibe/theme, very good beer and larger, and a vast selection of whisky.

If you're new to whisky or consider yourself a bit of a connosuer, then this is the place to go. The staff are extremely welcoming and very attentive.

Fraser, the bar manager, is extremely knowledgeable and will aim to suit a dram to your whisky experience and palate.

The relaxed atmosphere and imaginative and modern decor adds to the experience. A must do whenever I'm in Inverness.

Ideally situated on the banks of the River Ness a short walk from the High Street. Only two minutes away. It was a gorgeous day when I visited and there were about 10 people in total on our tour. The graphics as many have mentioned are amazing, accessible toilets, however the upstairs of the Brewstillery are not yet accessible. Last year I was in wheelchair so I wouldn’t have been able to take the tour, this year I’m ok again. So not yet accessible as the most engaging things to see are upstairs (many stairs and no elevator 2025). Top tips. If driving ask for a driver pack. Of it your don’t really enjoy whisky perhaps ask to taste their amazing beers? Don’t wear heels or a skirt! You’ll know if you take the tour. The guide was fantastic, they knew their stuff. The actual whisky tasting wasn’t really guided at the end of the tour. It is a tiny place. Not yet producing their own whisky. (One of the requirements to be a scotch is for it to mature at least 3 years). Maturation takes place off site (they don’t have a lot of space). The beer is yum. Try it. The graphics are awesome. The tour was just long enough. I would suggest that those with accessibility needs (mobility) request a discount as you won’t be able to see the upstairs which I think at present would be an inferior experience (this will change with a lift). Check out our blog for more of a review. Good luck to them. It will only get better and a great asset to inverness. Especially for folks visiting the highlands without their own transport as this is easy to get it.

This is a new brewery and distillery and restaurant AND inn in the heart of Inverness. They do all tasks equally well! We were greeted warmly and guided through a beer tasting. All five of their beers are fantastic! And the pizza is good too!
